Podcasts
Students learn different styles of podcasting and the benefits of a single or co-hosted show. They deep dive into learning how to set up a podcast, find a company name, and create two episodes on any topic
that they are passionate about. In the second episode, I require them to interview someone. The requirement is someone outside of your age and immediate family.
After the class watches the podcasts, they are given feedback on what to change through peer editing processes. Next, they load the podcasts onto YouTube and other forums.
Finally, students enter a marketing competition for the most subscribers and Ms. Timmons gives a prize to the top podcast of the year. (Around 170 students enter the contest in groups or by themselves).
I took a Wit & Wire course and learned
how to teach podcasting to my students. Thanks to Melissa for her courses that enabled me to support so many students creatively.
Thank you to Annie Stefani for the purchase of Yeti microphones
with North Tahoe High School library funding.
